What concerns me more than Charlie Sheen's instability is the media's close attention to him.
Why do we care?
Why do we care about any of the celebrities being idolized in the news, magazines, and movie screens? They are just people. Some are very disturbed and i'm sure if they did not have fame no one would really like them. Maybe the fame is what is destroying celebs and they would be OK if everyone just stopped caring so damn much.
Lindsay Lohan is always in some sort of media outlet for being stupid. Why i don't quite get. I can name about ten stupid people i encounter on a daily basis that most people will ignore, but they are just as messed up as Lindsay or Charlie Sheen.
What is it about celebrities that draws us in?
I don't think of myself as being obsessed with fame or hype on anyone but the people i know personally and love. There are some people in the media I admire or would like to meet, but I'm sure they will have flaws like everyone else. If i can be disappointed in the fools i deal with on the daily that aren't nearly as crazy as the celebrities, i'm sure meeting a huge celebrity would also be somewhat disappointing.
